Statement

This body of work addresses ruptures and unions along the interface of painting and sculpture through the lens of abstraction rooted in concepts and temporary structures. My process originates in drawing as a way of dissecting structures and making visual gaps in perception and understanding. I pilfer imagery such as awnings, nutty circus tents, structures found in leisure and war environments, for use in dramaturgical, often sexual, scenarios.

Background
I was born in Pasadena, CA and grew up springboard diving in the Southern California sun.  I received my MFA in Visual Arts from Rutgers University, New Brunswick at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, and a BA in Studio Art from Williams College, Williamstown, MA.
